Supporting Recovery from Addiction in Mid-Coast Maine

Overview

The Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition was originally created on April 12, 2016 as a grassroots, volunteer-based organization. It followed a passionate community forum held at the Rockland City Council Chambers. The hot topic dealt with the lack of local response to the worsening opiate addiction crisis.

The MCRC mission is to reduce the rate and consequences of drug addiction in Midcoast Maine. Workgroups have been developed to address addiction prevention/education, access to treatment, recovery support services, helping families and community, and criminal justice issues. MCRC is the only organization in Knox County addressing all aspects of drug addiction in the community.

GIVE SUPPORT

In today’s world, it can be easy to put a community second. Or third. Or tenth. Here at Midcoast Recovery, we know that community is the living, beating heart of who we are. The opposite of addiction isn’t sobriety; it’s community.

Community means that no one is disposable.
